| Text only available in German: Bei der Glock 18 Gen. 2 handelt es sich um eine Glock 17, welche ab Werk einen Umschaltmechanismus aufweist, welcher die Wahl zwischen halbautomatischem und vollautomatischem Feuer ermöglicht. Der Wahlhebel befindet auf der linken, hinteren Seite des Schlittens. Die Glock 18 Gen. 2 wurde auf Wunsch von Antiterror-Einheiten im Jahr 1986 entwickelt. Die ersten Ausführungen entsprachen der Glock 17, später wurde auch eine Glock 18C mit integrierten Kompensatorbohrungen vermarktet. Obwohl die Glock 18 Gen. 2 der Glock 17 zum Verwecheln ähnlich sieht, sind aus Sicherheitsgründen der Schlitten und das Griffstück nicht austauschbar. Die Glock 18 Gen. 2 kann jedoch sämtliche Magazine der zweireihigen 9mm Glocks aufnehmen (vgl. Glock Magazine 9mm Para). Ausgeliefert wurde die Glock 18 Gen. 2 standardmässig mit 17+2 Schuss Magazinen. Normale Glocks wurden/werden mit Magazinen ohne die +2-Erweiterung ausgeliefert. Im vollautomatischen Feuer weist die Glock 18 Gen. 2 eine Kadenz von 1'300 Schuss pro Minute auf; ein 33 Schuss Magazin wird so innert 1.6 Sekunden (!) leer geschossen. Der Standardlieferumfang umfasste im Jahr 1993: - Glock 18 Gen. 2 - zwei 19 Schuss Magazine (17 Schuss Magazine mit orginal Glock +2 Erweiterungen) - Plastikbox - Putzstock - Putzbürste - Bedienungsanleitung der Glock 17 Gen. 2 - Zusatzbedienungsanleitung zur Glock 18 Gen. 2 Zusätzlich abgebildet sind: - Glock 33 Schuss Magazin (31 Schuss mit original Glock +2 Erweiterung, siehe Glock Magazine 9mm Para) - Drum Magazine (50 rounds) for Glock, hergestellt in Süd-Korea Die vorliegende Glock 18 der zweiten Generation (Gen. 2) wurde im Jahr 1993 erworben.
