Description:
Antique Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1898, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. 
 
Stock may have been previously sanded as the Swiss military acceptance stamp is nearly gone.
 
On the right side of the stock, there is a long, light scratch along the butt and ending at the grip. are a few light gouges near and on the pistol grip. Multiple light pressure marks along the grip. Around the finger groove, there is a gouge in the middle of the upper edge and multiple pressure marks around the edge, including a larger pressure mark on the bottom right corner. On the left side of the stock, there are light to mild pressure marks throughout the butt, as well as a few fair and moderate gouges. Mild pressure marks and a few mild gouges along the grip. Numerous pressure marks between the grip and finger groove. Mild gouge above the right side of the finger groove. Light pressure marks and a few light gouges around the finger groove. Heavy pressure marks along the forearm, in between the two barrel bands. On the underside of the stock, there is a gouge on the right side of the magazine plate, in front of the magazine catch. Light gouge in front of the magazine plate. Long, mild pressure marks running between the magazine plate and the rear barrel band. On the comb of the stock, there is a large chip at the heel directly in front of the butt plate and a chip at the receiver tang. Mild to fair pressure marks along the comb. The handguard has light pressure marks throughout, and a gouge on the top side near the front barrel band. 
 
Receiver has light to mild finish wear, with fair finish wear over the chamber. Mild patina over the chamber. Mild edge wear around the loading slot, light edge wear around the lightening cuts. Light finish wear and mild patina on both barrel bands. Light finish wear on the magazine plate. Trigger guard has light edge wear, light finish wear, and several light surface marks. Light edge wear and light finish wear on the magazine base. 
 
Receiver is P 51 stamped, indicating privatization in 1951. ·9 stamped below the serial number, indicating armory refurbishment in 1909. 
 
Bottom bolt knob is cracked.
