Description:
Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1898, in very good condition with 90% original finish. 3/5 Bore (mild pitting throughout). 1*/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.

Furniture has various light to mild marks from handling wear throughout and heavy pressure marks around the butt of the stock. It also appears that the stock had been previously lightly sanded as the Swiss military acceptance stamp on the right side of the butt is shallow.

There is a small, unrepaired crack on the right side of the stock at the heel, dropping the furniture grade from 3/5 to 1/5.

On the right side of the stock, below the right edge of the bolt release lever there is a mild gouge, and to the right of that, above the magazine, is a moderate gouge. There is a heavy gouge on the woodline near the barrel step. To the right of the finger groove, there is some light to mild gouging and a heavy pressure mark. On the left side of the stock, at and near the woodline below the receiver there are some areas of heavy handling wear with various scratches, and below the left side of the receiver's left side lightening cut there is a gouge. There is a gouge at the woodline, above the middle of the finger groove. On the underside of the stock, at the toe it appears someone had scratched the letters "RO". Heavy gouge on the right side of the trigger plate, in front of the magazine catch. There is a small gouge in front of the magazine plate. Multiple mild pressure marks in between the two barrel bands. The handguard has several light gouges in between the two barrel bands.

Receiver finish is lightly worn, with slightly heavier finish wear around the rear of the receiver, and there are several light surface marks on the left side of the receiver at the rear. Light edge wear around the loading slot, the lightening cuts, and the forward and rear edges. Both barrel bands have light finish wear. Rear barrel band has mild tooling marks around the mounting screw. Light finish wear on the magazine plate. Light finish wear on the trigger guard. Light finish wear on the magazine base.

Receiver is P stamped.

This rifle is classified as Antique, however it was inadvertently import engraved.
