Description:
Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1900, in good condition with 75% original finish. 3/5 Bore (mildly worn rifling). 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number.
 
On the right side of the stock, there are light pressure marks throughout the butt. On the grip, there is a large, heavy pressure mark and a light dot pattern, possibly from something that may have been used to clamp the stock. Light scratch below the bolt release lever. Before the rear barrel band, there is an area with mild pressure marks and mild gouging, and a longer gouge extending from the handguard above. On the left side of the stock, there are light pressure marks throughout the butt. There is a checker-pattern pressure mark coming off the right side of the finger groove, likely from a vise. Large, heavy gouge to the left of the finger groove. Fair pressure marks and light to mild gouging in front of the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock, there are several pressure marks around the magazine plate and a gouge on the right side of the magazine plate, in front of the magazine catch. About halfway between the magazine plate and the rear barrel band there is a mild gouge. Before the front barrel band, there is a match participation sticker from an event held in Bellinzona (Canton Ticino). The comb of the stock is stamped for Canton St. Gallen. Heavy pressure mark near the front end of the comb, on the right side. Mild chipping at the receiver tang. Mostly light pressure marks throughout the handguard. 
 
Receiver has light finish wear and light patina throughout. Mild edge wear around the loading slot and forward edge, light edge wear around the lightening cuts. Heavy finish wear and mild patina on the rear barrel band. Moderate to heavy finish wear and mild patina on the front barrel band. Fair to moderate finish wear on the magazine plate. Heavy finish wear on the trigger guard and it is approaching white. Fair finish wear on the magazine. 
 
Receiver is P 37 stamped, indicating privatization in 1937.
 
Upper bolt knob is chipped. 
 
Includes muzzle cover and leather sling.
