Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1901, in very good condition with 80% original finish. 4/5 Bore (lightly worn rifling). 3/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. Mild gouge on the right side of the stock at the butt. Three mild to fair pressure marks on the pistol grip. Moderate pressure mark on the bottom right edge of the finger groove. To the right of the finger groove, below the woodline there are a couple of light gouges. Various mild to fair pressure marks along the forearm in between the two barrel bands. On the left side of the stock there are light pressure marks throughout the butt. Pressure marks and a small, mild gouge on the pistol grip. Forward of the grip there is an area of heavy handling wear, with multiple fair to moderate pressure marks, scratches, and light gouging. The finger groove has pressure marks along the bottom edge, and there are multiple pressure marks on the bottom left edge. On the underside of the stock, there is a large, moderate gouge in front of the rear sling mount, and a heavy pressure mark. Gouge to the right of the magazine plate in front of the magazine catch. Scattered light to mild pressure marks along the forearm. The comb of the stock is stamped near the heel with "VAUD" for Canton Vaud. Light pressure marks throughout the comb. Handguard has a few light gouges near the ferrule. Multiple pressure marks around the rear barrel band, including a small moderate to heavy pressure mark on the left side, in front of the rear barrel band. Receiver has mild to fair finish wear. Light patina over the chamber. Light scratches and surface marks around the rear of the receiver. Light to mild finish wear on the rear barrel band. Mild finish wear and light patina on the front barrel band. Fair to moderate finish wear around the front sight base and the barrel. Heavy finish wear on the magazine plate. Moderate to heavy finish wear on the trigger guard. Heavy finish wear on the magazine. Receiver is P 53 stamped, indicating privatization in 1953. It is also ·9 stamped, indicating armory refurbishment in 1909. Both bolt knobs are cracked and chipped. Includes muzzle cover and leather sling. C&R Eligible. Import engraved. |
