Swiss 1896/11 Infantry Rifle, produced in 1902, in good condition with 75% original finish. 4/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. Bolt knobs matching serial number. Mild handling wear throughout the furniture. On the right side of the stock, there are some scattered light gouges on the side of the butt. Vertical gouge to the right of the finger groove. Fair pressure marks in front of the rear barrel band. On the left side of the stock there are many pressure marks running from the butt of the stock to the finger groove and there are light gouges around the pistol grip. Gouge on the forearm in front of the rear barrel band. On the underside of the stock there is a gouge to the right of the trigger guard. On the top side, there is dark coloration around the receiver tang. There is a long scratch on the right side of the handguard near the woodline about halfway between the ferrule and rear barrel band. The comb of the stock is stamped with an encircled number five, a rack number of 39108 and "VAUD" for Canton Vaud. Overall bluing has areas of heavy finish wear overall. The receiver, barrel, and barrel bands have large patches of heavy finish wear with associated scratching and appears that an abrasive had been used. The receiver also has multiple spots from light pitting. Fair finish wear on the magazine plate. Heavy finish wear on both the trigger guard and the magazine base, and both are nearly in the white. Multiple surface scratches on the trigger guard. Receiver is P 36 stamped indicating privatization in 1936. Both bolt knobs are cracked. Includes leather sling. C&R Eligible. Import engraved. |
