Rare Swiss ZFK 31/43 sniper carbine, produced in 1943, in very good condition with 92% original finish. 5/5 Bore. 4/5 Stock. Stock and handguard matching serial numbers. Bolt matching serial number. Magazine matching serial number. Furniture has numerous pressure marks throughout, mostly light in nature with a few heavy pressure marks. Right side of the stock has numerous small marks at the heel and some long surface scratches on the side. Moderate pressure mark found below the finger groove. Left side of the stock has a small gouge below the scope near the woodline. There are two rough cuts in the wood that line up with two screws on the optic. There is a heavy pressure mark near the woodline, rear of the front barrel band. There are several small gouges on the underside at the toe. There are a few small gouges near the trigger plate, and long pressure marks on the forearm just past the trigger plate. Mild to moderate pressure marks are found along the toe. The handguard has a series of small, shallow gouges on the top side at the base, and mild to moderate pressure marks throughout. Receiver has good bluing with a slightly green tint. Minor edge wear around the loading slot. The built-in KERN optic has finish wear on the tangent sight, fair to moderate finish wear on the side of the optic, and the periscope end of the optic is in the white. Bluing on the rear barrel band is excellent. Front barrel band has light edge wear on the left and right sides as well as on the bayonet lug. Trigger plate has very good bluing with minimal finish wear. Edge wear on the trigger guard. Light finish wear on the magazine. KERN optic does exhibit some cloudiness. No P stamp on receiver. Includes muzzle cover and leather sling. Note, this was originally imported and engraved as a "ZFK 31/42" but it was determined that this is actually a ZFK 31/43. The engraving has been corrected. The Karabiner Model 1931 (K31) is a magazine fed, straight pull, bolt action rifle chambered in 7.5x55mm Swiss Gewehrpatrone 1911 (GP11) that was the standard issue rifle of the Swiss Armed Forces from 1933 through 1958. The K31 was made by Eidgenossische Waffenfabrik Bern, a Swiss federal armory, and is one of the last carbines employed by the Swiss military that is based on the designs by Schmidt and Rubin. The ZFK31/43, along with the ZFK31/42 is a rare sniper carbine variant of the K31, and 2,241 pieces total were produced. |
