Description:
This Swiss Luger model 1900, manufactured by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken in 1903, is from the 2nd series, 4th variation. It is in very good condition with 85% original finish. 4/5 Bore. Bore is bright but the rifling shows light wear. Barrel is a non-matching serial number replacement, serial number 4170. All other visible serial numbers are matching. Wood grips matching serial numbers. Receiver has two stamps on the left side next to the trigger plate: a Swiss military acceptance stamp on the left and the inspection mark from Major Vogelsang on the right. Top of the receiver has a Swiss cross in sunburst, DWM manufacturer logo on the toggle, and Swiss military acceptance stamp on the rear. The frame has some finish wear at the front strap, edge wear on the trigger guard, and holster wear on the front edge on both sides. Light edge wear on the trigger plate and some rubbing on the receiver, just forward of the trigger plate. There is holster wear and other finish wear present on the barrel near the muzzle. Good straw coloring on straw finished parts, with finish wear on the trigger and safety selector. The normally DWM straw finished extractor was replaced with a blued extractor from W+F Bern. Original V notch rear sight. Leather lanyard is tied to the Luger's rear lanyard loop. Includes military leather holster; the leather loop that closes the flap over the rivet is not present. The holster's spare magazine pouch appears to be a later addition as the pouch appears newer than the holster.

C&R Eligible. Very discreet import engraving. See our How To Order page for ordering instructions.

The Luger is one of the most recognizable semi-auto pistols in the world, originally designed by Georg Luger while at Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) in approximately 1899. Switzerland was the first nation to adopt the Luger as a military sidearm, chambered in 7.65mm, under the models 1900, 1900/06 and 1906/29.

The Luger remained in production through the 1940s, with numerous variations in service during WWI and WWII, and has been used as a military sidearm by several nations around the world. The chamber is marked with a crisp Cross within a Sunburst. The toggle bears DWM’s iconic scrolled logo as well as dished style knobs and a side lock indicative of it’s early production type. The frame has a long type grip safety, narrow trigger, wide trigger guard and bears no stock lug. The front sight is a sawtooth style affixed by dovetail to the barrel. The grips are a clean checkered walnut.
