Description: |
9mm Luger; 85% blue, 10% straw, fair bore, good grips, 4'' barrel, Weimar era navy issue to the East Sea fleet, this pistol was a 1917 Artillery LP08 model which has been reworked by shortening the 8 inch artillery barrel to 4 inches. Original blue finish, strawed small parts and matching number checkered walnut grips. All numbered parts matching except the magazine which is a sheet steel wood bottom variation with unmarked base. The pistol retains the original DWM markings and Imperial proofs, with the 1920 date stamped over the 1917 date on top of the chamber. The rear toggle is stamped on top with the Spandau SU/50 proof, indicating the modificaton was done there. The front grip frame strap is navy marked "O.589.". Condition: Good. The metal finish showing sharp edge and high point holster wear. The finish thinning some on the grip straps. The straw color has mostly faded from the small parts. The grips show some handling. Mechanically fine. The bore shows wear to the rifling and some corrosion in the grooves. An interesting and seldom encountered German Navy variation. C&R/FFL, s/n 2xxl, Catalog Number NA-18 |
