Text only available in German: Pistol 08 (P08) VOPO (People's Police GDR) bezeichnet man Pistol 08 (P08), welche nach dem Krieg aus russischen Beutebeständen im Auftrag der DDR-Behören überarbeitet und für die Volkspolizei (VOPO) eingesetzt wurden. Die Waffen wurden teilweise aus mehreren Waffen zusammengestückelt und dann mittels Durchstreichen der alten Nummer neu nummerngleich gemacht. Insgesamt sollen mindestens 10'000 Waffen so einen neuen Einsatzzweck gefunden haben.   Ein Erkennungsmerkmal, welches an den meisten Pistol 08 (P08) VOPO (People's Police GDR) anzutreffen ist, sind die Plastikgriffschalen mit den Kreisen.   Pistol 08 (P08) VOPO (People's Police GDR) haben teilweise vorne auf dem Griffstück die Einheit der DDR Schutzpolizei eingestempelt, bei welcher sie im Einsatz waren. Die Markierung besteht aus einem "S" und zum Teil auch dem Bezirk mit einer Kennziffer. Folgende Bezirke und Kennziffern gab es für Berlin (Kennziffer, Bezirk, Sektor): I: Mitte, sowjetisch II: Tiergarten, britisch III: Wedding, französisch IV: Prenzlauer Berg, sowjetisch V: Friedrichshain, sowjetisch VI: Kreuzberg, amerikanisch VII: Charlottenburg, britisch VIII: Spandau, britisch IX: Wilmersdorf, britisch X: Zehlendorf, amerikanisch XI: Schöneberg, amerikanisch XII: Steflitz, amerikanisch XIII: Tempelhof, amerikanisch XIV: Neukölln, amerikanisch XV: Treptow, sowjetisch XVI: Köpenick, sowjetisch XVII: Lichtenberg, sowjetisch XVIII: Weissensee, sowjetisch XIX: Pankow, sowjetisch XX: Reinickendorf, französisch   Ebenfalls finden sich Berliner Sonnen als Hoheitszeichen auf den Waffen.
