Hier bieten wir ein tolles Museums Replikat an . Es handelt sich um ein Sax bzw Sachs oder auch nach dem Fundort Themsenkurzschwert . Material: Karbonstahl, Scheide aus Rindsleder Gesamtlänge: ca. 73,5 cm - Klingenlänge: ca. 56 cm Gewicht: ca. 650 g . Geliefert wird es eingeölt ! Die Klinge ist aufwendig graviert und mit einer runischen Inschrift versehen, wobei der erste Teil das angelsächsiche Futhark (= Alphabet) wiedergibt. Der zweite Teil der Inschrift ist Beagnoth, vermutlich der Name des Trägers oder des Waffenschmiedes. Unser Replikat gleicht in Form und Abmessungen weitestgehend dem frühmittelalterlichen Original. Die einschneidige Klinge besitzt neben der oben beschriebenen Inschrift eine schmale, aber recht tiefe, durchgehende Hohlkehle. Die Griffschalen aus Holz sind mittels Messingnieten an der Angel befestigt, und zudem durch zwei Messingringe gehalten. Die Klinge ist ungeschärft. Im Lieferumfang ist eine robuste und stilechte Scheide aus Rindsleder enthalten.
