| Original WWII-era Swiss infantry backpack (tornister). Backpack was made by saddler G. Schmitz of Riggisberg, a municipality in the canton of Bern, in 1945. Cowhide is in excellent condition with limited wear and discoloration. Leather is in good to very good condition. Inner canvas is clean. Shoulder straps are leather and canvas. KMV "Privat" stamp on the inside of the main flap, indicating that this backpack was released from military service for private ownership. Original soldier's name is written on a leather patch on the upper rear of the backpack. |
