Die Nachtsichtfunktion ist durch einen UV Filter eingedämmt, sodass es im Auslieferungszustand nur als digitale Tageslichtoptik funktioniert. Das Nightspotter Wolf X10 ist seitens des Bundeskriminalamtes als nicht verboten nach Anlage 2 zu §2 WaffG- Waffenliste- Abschnitt 1 Nr. 1.2.4.2. beurteilt. Da das Gerät nicht dem Waffengesetz unterliegt ist der Besitz und die Verwendung erlaubt. Mit einer Sondergenehmigung von der zuständigen Behörde, kann der Filter demontiert werden, und somit darf das Gerät auch als Nachsichzielfernrohr genutzt werden. Zur Restlicht - Verstärkung wird dann ein IR-Aufheller oder IR-Laser benötigt.
