| ORIG. SUHLER PERKUSSIONSBÜCHSE. Schönes, überaus qualitätsvolles Jagdgewehr in vorbildlicher Erhaltung. Der fein gemaserte u. polierte Nußholzvollschaft ist auf der Backenseite mit zartem Blattwerk geschnitzt, auch die Kolbenlade ist mit einer Holzrosette, in deren Mitte sich der Öffnungsmechanismus verbirgt, plastisch verziert. Die am Kolbenhals geschnittene Fischhaut nach "deutscher Art" ist sehr gut erhalten. Die Kolbenkappe, der Schaftabschluß sowie der Abzugsbügel sind aus schwarzem Büffelhorn, wobei das vordere Laub des Bügels plastisch in Reliefschnitzerei ausgeführt ist. Die Unterlegscheiben der Schloßplattenschrauben und die Ladestocktüllen sind aus Neusilber u. geschmackvoll graviert. Das Perkussionsschloß in typischer Suhler Machart, der Hahn als Drachenkopf ausgestaltet und ist der Zeitform entsprechend meisterlich graviert. Der gezogene Stahllauf ist in Silber eingelegt "I. Bästlein in Suhl", gravierte Standkimme m. einer Klappe. EXKURS: Lit. Neuer Stöckl gibt auf S. 47, Christoph und Gottfried Bästlein in Suhl um 1846 an. Es ist mit fast ausschliesslicher Sicherheit anzunehmen, daß das vorliegende Gewehr diesem Meisterkreis zuzuordnen ist. Perk.
