| This is the most beautiful original exemplar of Radom VIS 35 pistol I have ever seen, and according to the combination of the civilian proofing, pre-war barrel, hand polished surfaces, deep mirror-blue finish, it clearly indicates that it was assembled outside of Wehrmacht mass production, probably meant to be a presentation pistol, or a VIP gift. It was certainly produced shortly after the German occupation of the Radom arms factory but it was not delivered to the Wehrmacht as it doesn't carry Waffenamt markings. Instead, it shows civil proof marks and hand-engraved fitter?s symbols (letters and marks), indicating a hand-fitted assembly likely intended for a special civil purpose. In a picture below you can see how the finish differentiate comparing with another B series made for "Wehrmacht" Unfortunately there is no records of Radom Vis 35 examples made for the civil market, and I'm not able to identify the special markings. So, any expert feedback it would be welcome. UPDATE message I haven't received any feedback on this model and I'm wondering if anyone has seen a WWII Vis 35 civilian before. If yes, does the dark blue mirror surface looks the same on the other samples of the Vis 35 civilians pistols or this one was made for a special order? What about the markings, do they match with other markings on early post-occupation version of Vis 35 or they are different in this pistol? |
