CELOX(TM) ist ein lokal blutstillendes Mittel (Hämostyptikum), zur frühzeitigen Therapie des hypovolämischen Schocks. Es kann als hämostatischer Wundverband in der Selbst- und Kameradenhilfe, als auch im zivilen Rettungsdienst zur Blutstillung bei lebensbedrohlichen Blutungen verwendet werden. CELOX(TM) kann an nahezu allen Regionen des Körpers angewendet werden, auch in Bereichen, in denen ein Tourniquet nicht mehr verwendet werden kann (rumpfnahe Extremitäten, Gesichts- und Nackenverletzungen). CELOX(TM) ist ein Granulat (Pulver), welches direkt in die offene Wunde gegeben wird. Es besteht aus einem natürlich vorkommenden Protein, aus dem Chitinpanzer von Krustentieren. Es ist ungiftig und biologisch abbaubar. Auf Grund seiner entzündungshemmenden (antibakterielle und antimykotische) Eigenschaften wird es auch in Wundpflastern und als Beschichtung auf Implantaten verwendet. Die Wirkweise von CELOX(TM) ist eine elektrophysiologische Reaktion. CELOX(TM) ist positiv geladen und bindet die negativ geladenen Erythrozyten und Thrombozyten. Diese mucoadhäsive Wirkung verbessert die Hämostase und führt zu einer gravierenden Reduktion der Blutungszeit. Auf Grund der Wirkweise, arbeitet CELOX(TM) auch bei Blut mit geringem Gerinnungsfaktor. Ein weiterer, wichtiger Vorteil von CELOX(TM) liegt in der Tatsache, dass es bei der Behandlung zu keiner exothermen Reaktionen kommt, und sich die Bestandteile zur anschließenden Weiterbehandlung leicht aus der Wunde auswaschen lassen. CELOX(TM) ist temperaturunabhängig, bei der Anwendung, als auch bei der Lagerung. |
