Das Modell 686 könnte als Weiterentwicklung des Modells 66 "combat magnum" angesehen werden, mit einem stärkeren L-Rahmen und einem schweren Lauf, der über die gesamte Länge verstärkt ist. Der abgebildete Revolver wurde 1987 nach dem Buch "The Standard Catalog of S&W" hergestellt, hier in seiner zweiten Entwicklung (686-2), deren Herstellung im selben Jahr 1987 begann. Der Revolver hat eine matte Edelstahloberfläche, ein verstellbares Visier, einen 4-Zoll-Lauf, einen "Square-Butt"-Griff und "Target"-Holzplättchen aus S&W-Produktion. Die Waffe ist in ausgezeichnetem Zustand und weist keine Kratzer oder markierten Bugs auf. Der Revolver scheint nicht oft abgefeuert worden zu sein und wird mit seiner Originalverpackung verkauft. For sale is a very nice S&W Model 686-2 revolver, .357mag caliber, 4" barrel, matte stainless steel finish, manufactured in 1987, in excellent condition. The Model 686 could be considered the evolution of the Model 66 "combat magnum", with its more resistant L frame, and heavy barrel reinforced along its entire length. The revolver shown here was manufactured in 1987, according to "The Standard Catalog of S&W", here in its 2nd evolution (686-2), production of which began the same year, 1987. The revolver has a standard matte stainless steel finish, adjustable rear sight, 4-inch barrel, square-butt grip, and S&W-made "target" wood inserts. The gun is in excellent condition, with no marked scratches or bits. The revolver does not appear to have fired much and is sold with its original box.
