Das Modell 64 ist die Edelstahlversion des Modells 10, das ursprünglich als ".38 Military & Police" beschrieben wurde. Dieses Modell wurde 1970 auf den Markt gebracht und der abgebildete Revolver ist noch in der "No-Dash"-Version, die laut dem Buch "The Standard Catalog of S&W" 1972 hergestellt wurde. Hier in der Standardkonfiguration mit konischem 4-Zoll-Lauf, "Square-Butt"-Griff und den originalen "Service"-Holzplättchen.
