Le Madslug est pourvu d'une fente ventrale destinée à accueillir un hameçon texan pour pêcher les milieux encombrés, au milieu d'herbiers ou de sargasses par exemple. Pour cette pratique, il sera associé à un hameçon texan Decoy Worm 102 ou 13S.
