Als klassisches DMR-Gewehr (Designated Marksman Rifle/Zielfernrohrgewehr) im Kaliber 7,62×51 mm garantiert das G28 eine in Serie reproduzierbare Präzision von maximal 1.5 MOA, sowie eine uneingeschränkte Nachtkampffähigkeit. Die maximale effektive Kampfentfernung und Erstschusstrefferwahrscheinlichkeit auf Brustziele beträgt 600 Meter. Präzises Unterdrückungsfeuer ist bis 800 Meter möglich. Mit RAL8000 setzt das G28 auf eine weltweit einsetzbare Tarnfarbe. Durch einen optionalen Umbausatz lässt sich das G28 nutzer- und auftragsspezifisch in eine leichtere Patrouillenversion umrüsten oder als Sturmgewehr führen. Besonderheiten der Waffe sind die Möglichkeit des gesicherten Durchladens in allen Schlagstückpositionen, Schlagbolzen-/Fallsicherung, Teleskopstütze mit voll verstellbarer Wangenauflage, die unabhängig von der horizontalen Schafteinstellung in ihrer Position verharrt, werkzeuglose Gasverstellung, beidseitig bedienbarer Verschlussfanghebel mit Schutzwall gegen unbeabsichtigtes Auslösen beim Ablegen der Waffe mit offenem Verschluss, beidseitig bedienbarer Sicherungs- und Magazinauslösehebel, Schnellwechselvisier, G28-Aluminium-Handschutz mit STANAG-4694-Profil auf 12 Uhr und MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny Profil auf 3, 6 und 9 Uhr, im Handschutz integriertes Klapp-Korn, hartverchromtes 16,5-Zoll-Rohr mit Mündungsfeuerdämpfer |
