"Das Zerfallgeschoss, welches hauptsächlich bei Maschinenkanonen Anwendung findet, dient der Schonung der Waffe, indem es normale Patronen mit Geschoss simuliert. Beim Zerfallgeschoss wird Eisenpulver in eine geschossähnliche Hülle aus Kunststoff eingebracht und simuliert somit (mit ähnlichem Gewicht) ein normales Geschoss. Aufgrund der Fliehkräfte, die auf das Geschoss einwirken, zerreisst die Kunststoffhülle nach Verlassen des Rohres und die Füllung zerstäubt.
