Zudem überzeugt das Schließsystem, das die Sicherheit auf beiden Seiten zusätzlich erhöht. Schlüssel und Dorn aktivieren den Mechanismus an der gewünschten Stelle und halten die Position sicher. Ein Zusammendrücken oder auch nur geringfügiges Aufspreizen wird dadurch wirksam verhindert. Die Gefahr von Verletzungen, wie Quetschungen, Abklemmen oder Schnittwunden wird minimiert. Zugleich sind auch Manipulations- und damit Fluchtversuche deutlich erschwert. Für Handgelenke mit größerem Umfang wurde der Innendurchmesser auf 200 Millimeter erweitert. Das Mindestschließmaß beträgt 165 Millimeter, auch zartere Personen können also fixiert werden.
