Division Geschichte der Ostschweizer Truppen Herausgeber: Kommando Grenzdivision 7 / 1980 Format: 23 cm x 20,5 cm Nützliche Divisionsgeschichte mit wertvollem Dokumentationsmaterial (z.B. Listen der Kommandanten sowie der Verbände und ihrer Kommandanten seit 1875) und wissenschaftlichem Apparat (Quellen- und Literaturverzeichnis). Die 7. Division ist in den ostschweizerischen Kantonen Appenzell A. Rh., Appenzell I. Rh., St. Gallen und Thurgau fest verwurzelt. Mit der TO 1875 erfolgte die definitive Zuteilung der heute noch gültigen Bataillonsnummern. Diejenige der Regimenter und der Division waren jedoch nicht abschliessend festgelegt. Erst mit der TO 1938 wurde die heutige Form endgültig gefunden. Die 7. Division, spätere Grenzdivision 7 und heutige Felddivision 7, mit ihren traditionellen Regimentsnummern 31 TG, 33 SG und 34 AR/AI/SG, entstand.Die neuen Divisionen werden, abgesehen von ihrer Verwendung auf Neben- und namentlich Gebirgsfronten, nicht mehr den Charakter von operativen Heereseinheiten haben. Daher ist die Zusammenfassung mehrerer Divisionen oder Gebirgsbrigaden zu einem Armeekorps gegeben. Damit erhalten die Armeekorpskommandanten, welche seit 1912 im wesentlichen nur Inspektionsbefugnisse hatten, wieder Kommandogewalt. Daher wird die Armee gegliedert in : 1. Heereseinheiten: 3 Armeekorps, 9 Divisionen, 3 selbständige Gebirgsbrigaden. |
