Goerz und Emil Busch erhielten den Regierungsauftragzur Fertigung. Später wurde es nahezu von allen Optik-firmen hergestellt.Das Fernglas 08 war nur in der Infanterie und Kavallerieeingesetzt.Die Kenngröße ist 5x35. 5-fache Vergrößerung mit 35 mmObjektive. Das herkömmliche FG.08 hat die Kenngröße6x39.Das Schweizer Kreuz an der oberen Teilscheibe kennzeichnetes als Exportmodell für die Schweizer Armee.Rechts davon befindet sich eine Iventarnummer.Die Seriennummer lautet: 1288. Laut Goerz Nummernliste wurde es 1908 hergestellt.Darunter befindet sich das Kurzlogo von Goerz.Entgegen der herkömmlich oben angebrachten Klemm-schraube ist bei dem Ur-Modell die Klemmschraube ander unteren Gelenkachse angebracht.
