| Schweizer Panzer 68 Leer Geschoss Die Panzer 68 105 mm Patrone Als in den 50er Jahren der Kampfpanzer M60 als Übergangslösung für einen zukünftigen neuen Hauptkampfanzer aus dem bisherigen M48 entwickelt wurde, suchten die Konstrukteure nach einer leistungsfähigeren Kanone als die 90 mm Kanone des M48. Da keine entsprechende Kanone aus eigener Produktion zur Verfügung stand, entschloss man sich die britische 105 mm Kanone L7 zu übernehmen und, bei einigen Anpassungen und Verbesserungen, mit der Bezeichnung M68 für die Bewaffnung des Kampfanzers M60 einzusetzenAls Übergangslösung vorgesehen, wurden von 1960 bis 1980 weit über 11000 Kampfpanzer M60 verschiedenster Versionen hergestellt. Die letzte Serie lief 1987 vom Band. Die M68 ist somit eine der weltweit am meisten gebauten Panzerkanonen. Auch die ersten M1 Abrams wurden mit ihr bewaffnet. Die M68 findet sich ebenfalls im israelischen Merkava und im schweizerischen Panzer 68 wieder. |
