Seit 1887 ist die Webley & Scott Mark-Reihe nun im Gange und mit der neuen Mark IV im Kaliber .38 S&W vom Jahre 1942 soll diese Reihe nun ihr Ende gefunden haben. Somit führten die Briten im 2. WK die DIenstwaffe Mark IV für das Milität und die Polizei ein. Diese Version basiert auf dem Vorgängermodell von 1897 Mark III, speziell daran ist das verbesserte Rahmenschloss mit der zusätzlichen Eigenschaft, dass die Trommel beim Reinigen ausbgebaut werden konnte.
