| 6.5mm Japanese; 80% blue, poor bore, fair stock, 30.5'' barrel, WWII Japanese Arisaka type 38 rifle converted to a smoothbore single loading rifle for training purposes with blank ammo. Inverted V front sight, rear sight is a ladder style graduated to 1700 meters. The top of the chamber is stamped with an unknown school marking (see The Military Rifles of Japan by Honeycutt & Anthony, page 174, figure 11). The left side of the receiver has the S/N E875, the bolt has the matching number as well as the upper band. The right buttstock has a small metal plate attached which has a marking similar to a Nippon Special Steel emblem. The buttstock has cracks on both sides of the toe. The action has a solid base with no provision for a magazine. The bolt is missing the extractor assembly. NOTE: for blank firing only: NOT intended for use with live ammunition., s/n E8xx |
