| 56 Caliber; fair bore, fair stock, 6.75'' barrel, c.1850's. Damascus smoothbored octagonal barrel with Belgian Liege proof on the left side flat. Fixed sights. Walnut stock, single wedge, acorn shaped butt. Engraved iron mounts and lock. Hammer block safety. Metal finish has dark spotting overall. Stock is cracked on the side flat. The end of the rear trigger guard/grip strap is broken and missing below the screw. A small piece of wood is missing on one side of the front trigger guard extension, the other side cracked. The action functions well. The bore has pitting throughout. Antique. |
