| 50 Caliber; good bore, very good stock, 10 1/8'' barrel, Cased pair of Le Page type percussion duelers, browned Damascus octagonal barrels with dovetailed front and rear sights, front beaded, V notch rear blade. Iron mounted, finished in the white, walnut stocks. Vine and leaf carved forend tips. Vine and leaf engraved lockplates, hammers and barrel tangs. Pistols are identical in overall condition, the pistol engraved number 1 on the bottom of the barrel appears to have a replaced hammer which has similar engraving however is blued with a coarsely checkered swept back hammer spur. Adjustable triggers. Silver wedge plates. The wedge on pistol number 1 has a small chip at the edge of the wedge and also has a small crack in the stock on the left side at the front curve of the flat. Locks on both pistols function fine. Bores on both are in good-very good condition. Laminated wooden case with green felt lined interior, fitted for the pistols and accessories. Engraved brass powder flask, wood handled screw driver and nipple wrench tools, brass capper, brass lid over a circular compartment with a few percussion caps, brass measure with attached funnel, two exra nipples, corner compartments contain a worm tip and a few lead balls, wooden mallet handled ram, cloth wads, wooden cleaning rod with hand carved jag tip, and a hand made wooden ramrod which has a brass cartridge casing attached to the tip which appears to be a 7.65mm Mauser cartridge casing dated 1916. The interior shows some wear. The case itself has a split which runs across the lid and the rear corners of the lid are seperating, as well as many small chips in the laminate along edges. |
