| 22 Caliber; 92% blue, near mint bore, very good stock, 26'' barrel, FROM THE PRIVATE COLLECTION OF ROBERT SIMPSON COMES THIS VERY RARE BSW PROROTYPE KKW TRAINING RIFLE. THIS RIFLE IS REFERENCED ON PAGES 256,257 AND 268 IN MR SIMSONS BOOK "TRAINING RIFLES OF THE THIRD REICH GERMANY". THIS EXAMPLE IS 1 OF 10 HAND FINISHED KKWs MADE IN 1938 PRIOR TO REGULAR PRODUCTION, THESE 10 RIFES WERE PRESENTED TO VARIOUS OFFICIALS OF THE NSDAP TO DEMONSTRATE THE NEW TRAINER. THIS IS THE ONLY KKW NOTED WITH A "KAL.22 LONG RIFLE" MARKING FOR A CALIBER DESIGNATION. THE BLUING SHOWS LIGHT FRECKLING WITH MOST WEAR ON THE BANDS. THE BORE IS MIRROR BRIGHT WITH MINTY RIFLING. THE STOCK IS VERY GOOD SHOWING LIGHT DINGS AND HANDLING MARKS PLUS A NAME LIGHTLY SCRATCHED INTO THE LEFT BUTT., s/n 1870xx |
