| 9mm; 80% blue, Excellent bore, Excellent grips, 5'' barrel, MFG in 1936 or 1937 This is an extraordinarily rare and highly desirable BSW gas operated prototype for considered by the German military in 1936-37 Several variations were assembled, this double action only version having a sheet metal slide and a matted alloy frame. This exceptional pistol is unmarked except for a ''9A'' that was applied to the left tang for the purposes of importation. It has drift adjustable front and rear sight dovetailed into a shallow checkered rib. PROVENANCE Ex Henk Visser Collection. Collection of Dr.Geoffrey Sturgess Illustrated TBLAP Reported to be one of three known. CONDITION Fantastic BSW prototype in about 80% original condition with most of the blue having faded from the slide, that now appears as a toned dark gray. The alloy frame retains over 95% of it's original black matte finish. High condition original grip panels with sharp checkering with a few minor mars. Near excellent condition magazine and spare one with a blued base, one with a plum base. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect mechanics. An important prototype tested by the German military, sure to enhance any collection of military or early automatic pistols., s/n 9A |
