| 12 Gauge; poor bore, poor stock, 30'' barrel, Made in England c.1880's. Browned Damascene barrels. Chambers gauge 2 3/4". Modified chokes. Smooth concave rib with dollshead extension, engraved "PATENT SOLID STEEL THROUGHLUMP C.G. BONEHILL LONDON FINE DAMASCUS". Double underlugs. Moderate scroll and border engraving on the frame and lockplates, which have aged to silvery gray patina. Old brass plate repair on the trigger guard. Stocked in walnut. Rough sanded and refinished long ago. Stock has cracks on both sides behind the locks and at the end of the upper tang. Wood patched repair on the right side under the lock. Sliver of wood missing on the upper edges of the forend. Stock is loose. Original checkered hard rubber buttplate. Left action functions fine. Right action not working and has a repalcement hammer. Borea are dark and rusted. Best used for decoration above a cabin fireplace. Antique, s/n 269xx |
