| 8mm Lebel; fair bore, good stock, 21.75'' barrel, Turkish "forestry" carbine, converted from captured French Berthier rifles c.WW2 and issued to small rural police forces. The top of the receiver is marked "T.C./ORMAN/1948" and with the "N" denoting chambering for the French N Ball cartridge. 3-shot Mannlicher type internal magazine. Fixed front sight with nose cap guard. Ladder rear sight. The bolt is matching. Stock is stamped with the original French serial numbering which does not match. The metal finish has worn to a mottled and spotted gray. The attached leather sling appears to be an original French type. No legible import markings found. Mechanically fine, the bore shows fairly strong rifling however is dark throughout., s/n 22xx |
