| 10 Gauge; Good bore, very good stock, 30'' barrel, Manufactured 1878-1889, this is a standard grade shotgun with Damascus barrels and casehardened frame and lockplates. Double line border engraving. Marked on top of the barrel rib "COLT'S PT. F.A.M MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.". Both lockplates are marked "Colt's Pt. F.A. Mfg. Co.". Matching serial numbers on the trigger guard tang, watertable, barrels and forend latch plate. Checkered walnut stock and forend, the stock with a round knob grip and 13.75 inch LOP, the original steel buttplate present. Latch release forearm with ebony tip. Condition: The finish on the barrels has thinned. The casehardened parts have turned an even gray with very slight traces of case color here and there. The wood shows some handling, the checkering remains well defined and has worn evenly. Mechanically fine, both actions work well and barrel lockup is good. The bores have some pitting throughout.
