| 12 Gauge; very good bore, good stock, 30'' barrel, Manufactured in 1893. Belgian made steel barrels with intricate Damascene and blued finish. 2 5/8" chambers, modern guage reads Modified and Improved Modified chokes. Finely matted concave rib with brass bead and dolls head extension. Stamped on top of the rib "COLT'S PT F.A. MFG CO HARTFORD CT U.S.A.". Blued finish boxlock action with English scroll and hunting dog scene engraving. Marked on the bottom plate "PATENTED / AUG.22. SEPT. 19. 1882". Fancy walnut stock with checkered pistol grip and side flats. 14.25" LOP with the original hard rubber buttplate having the Rampant Colt motif. Hard rubber grip cap. Checkered forend with latch release and ebony tip. Matching serial numbers. Thinning metal finish. Wood shows handling marks but nothing major. Minor old chipping along the edge of the frame. Small chip at the toe of the buttplate. Plate and tang screws have been turned. Mechanically fine and tight with shiney bores. Antique, s/n 68xx |
