| 45 ACP; 90% blue, good bore, very good grips, 5'' barrel, This Colt Government Model was part of a 1,500 gun shipment to Russia c.1916, brokered through England. The pistol is accompanied by a Colt's factory letter stating shipment to the "Russian Government" on April 28, 1916. These pistols were standard commercial Government Models of the period and have the standard two line two block Patent dates and Colt's address markings on the left side of the slide, "COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE 45" on the right side of the slide and "GOVERNMENT MODEL" over the C prefix serial number on the right side of the frame. This 1500 gun lot did not have the Russian crylic markings added on the frame. These pistols saw quite a bit of use by several different factions in Russia at the time, as they were present during the Russian Revolutions of the period. This example has original finish and checkered double diamond walnut grips. Original two tone lanyard loop magazine. And is parts correct. Markings are crisp and clear. Metal finish shows holstering wear to the expected areas with thinning finish on the front grip strap and most finish worn from the mainspring housing on the rear frame. Scattered light scratches. Bore shows some wear but has fairly strong rifling, with light corrosion along the grooves. Includes the original factory letter as well as a copy. Fine mechanically., s/n C378xx |
