| 40-60 Caliber; 80% blue, Poor bore, Poor stock, 28'' barrel, COLT LIGHTNING (LARGE FRAME) MADE IN 1887 WITH A FACTORY LETTER. PER THE LETTER THE RIFLE WAS SHIPPED TO THE WALTER C. HODGKINS CO IN NEW YOUK ON SEPTEMBER 27,1887. THE FINISH SHOWS TRACES OF BLUING BUT THE FINISH HAS TURNED MOSTLY TO PATINA. THE BUTTSTOCK IS CRACKED ON THE UNDERSIDE FROM THE TANG TO THE BUTTPLATE, AND THERE ARE 2 PINS THRY THE GRIP AREA. THE PUMP HANDLE IS INTACT WITH NO ISSUES. THE ACTION NEEDS WORK AS THE BOLT DOES NOT LOCK WHEN CYCLED FORWARD. THE BORE HAS CORROSION THROUGH OUT. THE BARREL IS MARKED FOR CALIBER, 40-60-260., s/n 5xx |
