| 45-85-285; 96% blue, good bore, fair stock, 28'' barrel, Colt Lightning Large Frame in .45-85-285. Mfg. 1887- 1894 this is ser # 5123. 28-inch barrel has a good bore bright and shiny with good rifling, with scattered mild pitting. Full length magazine tube. The metal finish has been refinished and the receiver has been buffed to the point the COLT Stallion is almost gone The barrel has minor pitting and nicks on the edges of the barrel. The top of the barrel has COLT’S PT.FA. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. / Patented May 29 sept 19 83 May 20 85 June 15 86. Feb 22 87. The barrel also has 45-85-285 The forearm has a repaired section and has been sanded to the point the checkered section is almost gone. And the buttstock has been sanded and has three cracks off the buttplate and a chip out of the left upper corner at the tang. Manufactured in 1890. ANTIQUE., s/n 51xx |
