Description:
44-40 cal; very good bore, good stock, 20'' barrel, Manufactured in 1889 with blued barrel, special order nickel finish frame and mounted in a walnut stock and checkered walnut forend. Standard carbine with the saddle ring mounted on the left side of the frame. Fixed front sight and a ladder military style rear sight. The top of the barrel is stamped in two-lines with the address and patent dates 1883-1887. The caliber designation 44 CAL. Is stamped on the left side of the barrel chamber. The Rampant Colt logo appears on the left side of the frame. The barrel shows only traces of the blue finish, having worn to an even smooth gray patina overall. The frame retains some trace of the original nickel finish, which has faded overall, with the areas of loss being a gray patina. The wood has some minor dings and scratches. There are a few tiny dings in front of the loading gate on the right side of the frame. Mechanically fine. Antique., s/n 335xx
