| 44 Colt; good bore, good stock, 20.5'' barrel, Manufactured in 1891. Original blue finish and walnut stock. Round barrel with fixed front sight and ladder rear sight. Stamped on top of the barrel forward of the rear sight "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A./PATENTED MAY 29, SEPT. 18.83. MAY 26.85. JUNE 15.86. FEB. 22.87.". The caliber designation "44 Cal." appears on the left side of the barrel in front of the frame. Saddle ring present on the left side of the frame. Condition: The metal finish has turned an even brown/blue patina, with a few scattered handling marks. Mechanically fine. The bore has shine and strong rifling, showing minor frost and pitting along the grooves. Antique., s/n 559xx |
