| 44-40 WCF; fair bore, poor stock, 26'' barrel, Manufactured in 1885. Patina metal. Walnut stock, checkered forend. Round barrel with fixed front silver blade sight, elevation adjustable rear sight. Clear markings, top of the barrel stamped in two lines with the Colt's address and 1883 patent dates. Buttstock sanded long ago, having cracks on the top and bottom running back from the tangs. Cracks on each side runing back from the frame with an old screw and pin repairs. Name lightly carved on the left side of the wrist "EMIL". Rifle shows its age and lots of use, small dings on the barrel and pry marks on the receiver. The bore has pitting throughout. Mechanically fine. Antique., s/n 58xx |
