| 38-40 Winchester; 90% blue, excellent bore, good stock, 26'' barrel, Manufactured in 1890. Original blued finish, plain walnut stock, checkered forend. Full octagon barrel with fixed silver blade front sight, semi-buckhorn elevation adjustable rear sight. Stamped on top of the barrel in two lines with the Colt's address and patent dates 1883, 1885, 1886 an 1887. Rampant Colt logo in the center left side of the receiver. Blued steel buttplate retains 50% finish. Frame has some edge wear and scattered minor spotting. Some sharp edge wear on the barrel. The bottom of the magazine tube has a small dented spot which does not seem to interfere with loading. Stock shows fairly light handling for its age, there is a tiny chip in the stock on the right corner of the upper tang at the receiver and minor chips at the curve of the tang. Mechanically fine, the bore is bright and strong. Antique, s/n 449xx |
