| 36 Caliber; Good bore, good grips, 7.5'' barrel, Manufactured in 1856. Original metal finish has worn to gray with dark spotting over all and some scattered minor pitting. Silver plated brass trigger guard and backstrap. Original smooth walnut grip with varnish finish. Matching serial numbers. The cylinder retains approximately 75% of the naval battle scenes. Stamped on top of the barrel "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY". The left side of the frame stamped "COLTS/PATENT". The brass trigger guard and backstrap retain traces of the silver plate finish. The grip has had a coat of varnish applied long ago. Mechanically fine. Antique., s/n 558xx |
