| 44 Cal; fair bore, good grips, 8'' barrel, Manufactured in 1863. Original metal finish has turned dark patina overall. Brass trigger guard with a steel backstrap. Walnut grips appear to have been sanded at some point. Recoil shield cut for stock attachment with notch on the butt of the steel backstrap. Several of the parts have a small inspector initial. Matching serial numbers. The top of the barrel is stamped with the single line Colt's address, NEW YORK U.S. AMERICA. The left side of the frame is stamped COLTS/PATENT. No visible caliber marking on the left side of the trigger guard. The cylinder scene has only traces remaining. The action is working however cylinder indexing is a bit off. Antique., s/n 1049xx |
