| 22 short; 90% blue, fair bore, very good grips, 2.25'' barrel, Manufactured from 1873-1877. This example is a first variation with the short cylinder flutes, blue finish barrel, nickel plated brass frame and fitted with varnished rosewood grips. Marked on top of the barrel with a two-line address and no patent dates. The left side of the barrel is etched "COLT NEW 22". The barrel retains most of the original blue finish with some sharp edge wear. The brass frame has had the nickel finish removed, leaving no traces except on the circular plate on the left side. The grips have a few minor handling marks. The action work fine., s/n 126xx |
