| 45 Colt; very good bore, very good grips, 5.5'' barrel, Parkerized finish, original Colt checkered hard rubber grips. Originally a New Service chambered for 455 Eley, the cylinder chambers have been lengthened for use with 45 Long Colt. The cylinder has not been shaved on the back, retains the original crossed flags proof. Fixed sights. Lanyard ring on butt. British WW1 era proofs. The right side corner of the frame has Australian D broad arrow D ownership markings. The top of the barrel is stamped with the Colt's address and patent dates 1884, 1900 and 1905 in two lines. Rampant Colt logo on left side frame plate. The new chambering mark has been hand stamped on the left side of the barrel with the 455 Eley marking crossed out. There are four small notches filed on the right side edge of the frame top strap. Mechanically fine with tight lockup. C&R/FFL, s/n 1458xx |
