| 36 Cal; very good bore, good grips, 7.5'' barrel, 36 caliber center fire conversion. Original metal finish has worn to gray with traces of blue finish here and there. Brass trigger guard and backstrap. Original walnut grip. Matching serial numbers, the cylinder has a non-matching number with the matching number added underneath. Original markings, the top of the barrel is stamped "SAM'L COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA", the first half of the markings are faint. The left side side of the frame is stamped with patent dates 1871 and 1872 in two lines. The caliber designation is stamped on the left side of the trigger guard "36 CAL". The cylinder retains 85% of the naval battle scene. 6-shot cylinder, ejector housing on the right side of the barrel. The right grip is marked near the lower edge with a previous owners lightly carved initials. The metal finish shows some scattered minor spotting. There are dings on the ejector housing above the barrel wedge. The right grip has a small chip on the lower front corner. Mechanically fine with a crisp action. Antique, s/n 84xx |
