| 357 Magnum; 98% blue, excellent+ bore, excellent+ grips, 6'' barrel, Manufactured in 1955 the first year of Python production, with a very low three-digit S/N 235. Pythons have a reputation for accuracy, smooth trigger pull, and a tight cylinder lock-up. The first year all the Pythons were Handmade by Al DeJohn, who was Colt's ace gunsmith, had developed the Python, and later would become head of the Colt Custom Shop, and Al Gunther who was Superintendent of the Colt Factory. The front sight is a blade, and the rear is an adjustable U notch. The left side of the barrel is stamped PYTHON .357 / 357 MAGNUM. The right side of the barrel has COLT'S PT FA MFG CO HARTFORD CT. USA. The left side of the frame has the Colt Stallion Trademark. The original Python was initially available in carbon steel with a deep blue, designated as Royal Blue. The finish has very slight muzzle wear, and a very small touch of wear on the bottom of the trigger guard. The checkered walnut grips have the Colt medallion on each grip, and are in excellent condition, The bore is mirror bright, included is a reproduction Colt Brown box with the original Colt target and the hang tag complete with the red cylinder washer.
