| 45 COLT; 40% blue, Poor bore, Very good grips, 4.9'' barrel, COLT "US" MARKED MODEL 1873 SAA. THE BARREL WAS CUT DOWN TO 4.9" FROM EITHER THE ORIGINAL 7.5 OR LATER 5.5" AND RECROWNED WITH A VERY CRUDE NEW FRONT SIGHT ADDED. THE FINISH IS ABOUT 40% PATINA REMAINING WITH THE CASE COLORS COMPLETELY GONE. THE BORE HAS WEAK RIFLING WITH OXIDATION PRESENT. THE ONE PIECE GRIPS ARE VERY GOOD AND BEAR THE INSPECTOR CARTOUCHE "APC". APC WAS EITHER A.P. COBB 1874 OR A.P. CASEY 1875. THE SERIAL NUMBER 40 IS POORLY RESTAMPED SO WE DON'T KNOW IF IT IS ORIGINAL OR NOT. THE ACTION NEEDS WORK AND IS EXTREMELY OUT OF TIME., s/n 40 |
