| 38 Special; 96% blue, excellent bore, very good grips, 5 1/2'' barrel, Manufactured in 1939, original blue finish, casehardened frame and checkered hard rubber grips. In the original brown hinged lid box, numbered to the gun on the bottom. Includes an original Colt factory letter dated 1965, stating the gun was sold and shipped in 1940 to Western Metal Supply Co. of San Diego CA., one gun in the shipment. The metal finish shows fairly light holster wear on the expected high points. 85%+ case colors are uniform on the frame. The action screws show some signs of being turned. Turn lines on the cylinder are light, indicating the gun has not seen much use. The grip panels are very good, the sharp borders at the top of each panel having a minor dent, as well on the right grip panel Rampant Colt oval border and bottom edges of each panel, all minor. Mechanically excellent, crisp action. Clean internally. The box is over all good. Near 100% blue end label. One separated corner on the lid. Edge wear and loss of some box covering on the lid and bottom. C&R/FFL, s/n 3566xx |
